THE BLUE PLANET
A PROJECT ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE EARTH
ABOUT
The Earth. Our home. A planet full of beauties and resources. A place which is the habitat to 1 trillion species. That's more species than the estimated number of stars in the Milky Way galaxy. A home for diversity. A shelter for us all.
However, anyone with even a passing interest in the global environment knows all is not well. But just how bad is the situation?

17 leading scientists have produced a stark summary of the state of the natural world, outlining the likely future trends in biodiversity extinction, climate disruption and planetary toxification.
The problems, all tied to human consumption and population growth, will almost certainly worsen over coming decades. The damage will be felt for centuries and threatens the survival of all species, including our own.

The message might not be popular, and indeed is frightening. But scientists state they must be accurate and direct if humanity is to understand the enormity of the challenges we face.

This project means to make you reflect upon such a serious issue.
STARTING POINT
Let's face it: our planet is at risk of extinction...if we do not act right now. It is not me who says that. It is the scientific community who states it.

Global climate change has already had observable effects on the environment. Glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes is breaking up earlier, plant and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner.

Yet, we haven't tipped the global climate, in terms of warming, past a "point of no return," according to climate scientists. This means we are still in time of taking the appropriate steps to tackle this problem.

This project poses a question: shall we bet on the Earth and save it from extinction? Or shall we think of a Plan B, heading for space exploration so as to find a new home on another planet?

Let's see it.

STARTING POINT
2 BATX B
THE
CHOICE
FOUR TEAMS. EACH ONE WITH A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO THE SOLUTION.

TEAM A- You think the Earth can be saved. You just need to bet on renewable sources of energy, ban the fossil fuels and shut down nuclear power plants.

TEAM B - You also think the Earth can be saved. Yet, your bet is on the Nukes. After all it is the only reliable, efficient source of energy.

TEAM C - We will pass the point of no return sooner or later. It doesn't matter which energy you bet on- mankind has proven to be the most lethal species of all, a virus for their own habitat. Thus, the only solution is to search for a new home in the stars.

TEAM D - Climate Change? What the hell is this? All this is a lie invented by governments & lobbies to control the population. Chemtrails stop the rain from falling; the poles are not melting and the heat is due to the summer, as usual. Nothing to worry about!

YOU ARE SUMMONED TO THE UNO EARTH SUMMIT ON MONDAY 17 APRIL.THERE EACH TEAM WILL PRESENT THEIR ARGUMENTS SO THAT THEIR OPTION IS TAKEN.

EACH TEAM MUST HAVE :
-
SCIENTISTS , EXPERTS ON THE ISSUE
-
POLITICIANS
-
BUSINESSPEOPLE
-
COMMON CITIZENS

AFTER ALL THIS, DEBATE WILL FOLLOW AND A SOLUTION WILL BE TAKEN DEMOCRATICALLY. THE CITIZENS WILL SPEAK UP.
